Turkey Spaghetti Sauce

Tired of spaghetti sauce out of a jar? Try this version spiced up with ground turkey, minced garlic and Italian seasoning.

Turkey Spaghetti Sauce

1 pound ground turkey
2 cups chopped onion
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3 cups prepared chunky vegetable spaghetti sauce
8 ounces spaghetti, cooked and drained according to package directions
4 sprigs fresh basil, for garnish

In large non-stick skillet, over medium-high heat, sauté turkey, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning and pepper 8 to 10 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink and onion is tender.

Add spaghetti sauce to turkey mixture. Reduce heat to low and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

To serve, arrange cooked spaghetti in individual bowls and ladle sauce over cooked pasta. Garnish with fresh basil.
