This is a favorite wherever I take it!!
Mom's Taco Salad
1 head of iceberg lettuce, shredded
1/2 cup of chopped onion
1 16 oz can of mexican style chili beans (rinsed)
3-4 roma tomatoes, chopped
1 pkg shredded cheddar cheese (or mexican blend cheese)
1 pkg nacho cheese flavored or taco flavored dorito chips, crushed.
1 small bottle of italian dressing (lite or fat free work also)
Place lettuce and onion is 9 x 9 tupperware container. Pour 1/3 of italian dressing over these two layers. Then layer chili beans, tomatoes and shredded cheese. Put another 1/3 of dressing on these layers. Place in refrigerator until time to serve. About 5 minutes before serving place crushed chips on as the top layer and place remaining italian dressing over chips. Serve.
Approximate time to prepare is less than 30 minutes.
