Reader Tonya Bannister of Marquette submitted this quick recipe that is a family favorite. You will need to get a head start on the Pizza Wiches as the filling needs to be refrigerated overnight.
Pizza Wiches
French bread
1 pound ground beef
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can tomato soup
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 cup ripe olives, chopped
Brown ground beef and drain, combine with remaining ingredients. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight. Spread on French bread and broil.
Note: Make a double batch, it freezes well. This can be made ahead, very quick to fix after work.
