Simply Cookin' Chef Mitzi Stinson makes a simple Dijon Pesto Steak in under 30 minutes.

A combination of basil, walnuts, mustard and garlic are all you need to make a tasty pesto topping for this savory dish.

Throw the steak on the grill with some corn on the cob and veggie skewers for a summertime meal that won't disappoint. Need to save time? Use the broiler on your oven for an even quicker finish.

1/3 cup finely chopped fresh basil or parsley

1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts

1/4 cup dijon mustard

1 clove garlic, minced

1 boneless beef sirloin steak, about 3/4 inch thick (1-1/2 lb.)

 

Preheat broiler.

Mix basil, walnuts, mustard and garlic; set aside.

Place steak on rack of broiler pan.

Broil, 6 inches from heat, 10 minutes, turning after 5 minutes.

Spread top with basil mixture.

Continue broiling 3 to 5 minutes or until steak is lightly browned and cooked through.
